Laguna 69 Trek

Extended itinerary of this Laguna 69 Huaraz Trek:

Very early in the morning you will be transferred from your hotel in Huaraz towards the Llanganuco Valley, north of the Callejón. On the way, you can appreciate the magnificent and colorful Callejon de Huaylas (Huaylas Valley) with its green fields and white peaks, some of them more than 6000 meters, including the highest mountain in Peru, The Huascaran.

During the private trip, there will be a short explanation about Campo Santo, the former location and memorial site of Yungay. Yungay was city that disappeared by an avalanche caused by the earthquake in 1970. After this visit we starts the ascent to the Llanganuco Valley, surrounded by the Huandoy, Huascaran, Chacraraju, Chopicalqui, Yanapacha and Pisco Peaks, where you can appreciate its immense turquoise lagoons. From Huaraz city it takes 2 hours to arrive to Cebollapampa Valley, the starting point of the Laguna 69 trek.

After 3 to 4 hours ascending through a fascinating landscape of rivers, waterfalls and mountains, you will arrive to Lake 69, where you will be able to lunch, take pictures and enjoy the spectacular lake and Chacraraju Peak with more than 6000 meters. The descent to Cebollapampa takes from 1 to 2 hours; this is where the car is waiting to take you back to Huaraz city. Arrival in Huaraz approximately at 6:00 p.m. and transfer to your hotel.
